Reason number 1
I've been living in Alberta for almost a year now not really knowing what had brought me here. About a month ago, I came across my first reason. It's not a man but something they call Aurora Borealis, a.k.a. Northern lights. It was a late night after a day out in the field. As I was trying to keep warm inside our trashy trailer, my field tech urged me to come outside and check out the midnight sky. I wasn't expecting anything more than a myriad of stars (which is still a sight worth being dragged out for) but as I steped outside, I was utterly shocked by the phenomenon. The Northern Light were shining in all direction as if running away from something. I felt like I was inside a snow globe being protected by nothing but a thin layer of glass. The solar winds were greenish blue dancing and prancing about. What an awesome treat.
